How we are Organized
Kusoma International - Laurenti Mohochi Educational Foundation (Kusoma - LMEF) runs its activities from California USA.
We have a Board of Directors, which is the highest decision making organ of the foundation. The Board is composed of men and women from diverse academic, cultural and professional backgrounds, brought together by their strong commitment to providing access to quality education for poor and marginalized young people.
For ease of execution, operations of the foundation are handled by committees that deal with specific functions. Apart from the Executive Committee which is made up exclusively of Board Members, other committees draw their membership from Board Members and volunteers co-opted for their expertise and experience in the relevant field. They are: the Strategic Planning Committee; the Communications and Public Relations Committee, and the Finance and Fundraising Committee. Decisions made at committee level must be discussed and ratified by the Board before implementation.
There is also the Kuria Coordination Committee that serves as the liaison unit between Kusoma - LMEF and its activities in Kenya. Our efforts are also supported by numerous Project Volunteers who assist in the administration and operation of our programs.
Lastly, we have the Projects for Peace Coordinators who, in joint delegation with the University of California, San Diego International House provided valuable training to the Mohochi Scholars during one of their off-campus workshops.
